In a follow up to our post before Christmas I have received an email confirming that the two Christmas boxes we donated had gone to Romania – part of the procedure of Operation Child is for a barcode to be printed so that the box can be traced back and sender inform of it’s whereabouts.
Although I like to think of myself as having spiritual beliefs, I am not a religious person in the sense of God. So for me this wasn’t about celebrating God or ‘Sharing news about Jesus Christ’, it was simply about doing something for others, sharing with those who are less fortunate and reaching out to a community (wherever it might be) to send hope.
This video shows the children opening the boxes and it is evidence of a fabulous project which I was delighted to be a part of.
What a wonderful video that is! It brought a lump to my throat 🙂

Your original post inspired me to send a box too, Rachel. My reasons for joining the scheme were exactly like yours. I wonder if I’ll hear where my box was sent to. Either way it doesn’t matter; I’m just happy to have made a very small contribution 🙂
